Halloween Fun in Wales

Even though Halloween isn't as big here in Wales, we tried to keep our family traditions in place with Reese. She dressed up in three different costumes, a watermelon, witch, and a doctor. She looked as cute as ever in all three!

Scott had a road game today so we carved pumpkins yesterday so he could take part. Reese, however, didn't do much in the way of helping or diving in. She was a little unsure of the pumpkins this year. She did get brave enough to finally 'pet' the pumpkins but then would quickly run away.

I brought her trick-or-treating at the neighbors and she had a ball trying to get as much candy into her little bag as possible. A girl after my own heart, I tell ya!

Here are some pictures of all the fun.

Look who's 1!!

It's hard to believe an entire year has gone by with our little beaner. It makes me a little teary eyed to see the 'baby' in her disappearing so quickly. She has brought unimaginable joy, love, and pride into our lives. We are truly blessed to have such a sweet little girl to call ours.

We celebrated on October 6th with a some of Scott's teammates at our place. We had snacks, dinner and of course cake. Made a few decorations to mark the occasion too. Reese had a blast at her party but didn't seem too interested in the cake. She cared more about eating her dinner, what a good little girl. She didn't really get the whole wrapping paper thing either, but loved all her new toys. She most definitely is not a shy one, loved all of the attention!

Reese is running all over the place these days, definitely keeping us on our toes. She tries to sneak out of the living room whenever she sees the door open even a crack. She can point to her nose and ears when you ask her to and bring you some of her favorite toys by name too. Still using her trademark sounds but starting to test out a few new ones here and there. One of her new toys is a little piano and she has discovered the button that plays full songs and only pushes that one...over and over and over while dancing her little heart out! She likes to dance by herself though, stopping if you if try and join in. She is eating so much these days and hasn't turned anything down. Has a hearty appetite and will let you know if you're running behind on getting meals or snacks to her! She is drinking out of her sippy and straw cups with no problem and loves to carry them around with her. Still a great sleeper but won't sleep in her stroller at all anymore. If there is anything going on around her, there's little chance she will be sleeping. This makes it interesting for games but we try and stay as long as she allows.

Happy 1st Birthday Reese Elizabeth!

Family Pictures

Before we left for Wales, we had family pictures done with Dan at Guys and Dolls. We wanted to have Reese's 1 year pictures done too since we wouldn't be home on her actual 1st birthday. Reese did really well with the photoshoot showing off her great big smile. Dan was great with her and as always, his pictures turned out great. Here are a few of our favorites!

11 months

I can't believe our baby is almost 1, where does the time go? She is growing up way too fast but we're trying to keep up with as many pictures and videos as we can. I'm in disbelief over this each time her monthly 'birthdays' rolls around!

She started really walking (as per the last video) this month which has been so exciting. It was so fun to see her go from two or three wobbly steps to full on walking. Just a matter of a couple weeks and she got the hang of it. She LOVES to walk everywhere now, sometimes getting so excited she tries to run but gets ahead of herself and usually topples. She has started saying 'mama' again which is so fun to hear even though she doesn't really know what she's saying. Not too many other new 'words' or sounds. She also loves walking around with two little balls or blocks in her hands. In fact, most mornings it's the first thing she will look for out of her toy basket. She doesn't really do much with the balls, just likes to carry them around. Maybe it's due to her lack of entertaining toys, which we hope to remedy with her birthday that is just around the corner. It's just so hard to travel with too many toys but we plan on buying some over here. She's most definitely making do with what she has at the moment with no complaints. Speaking of complaining, she has started this little whiny noise and uses it fairly often. It's so funny but hoping it doesn't last too long. Maybe we'll catch it on video one of these days.

Reese has been to all of daddy's home games and done pretty well. She usually gets a little antsy by the end of the 3rd period but I try and save a toy or two or bottle for then. Now that she is full on moving, she isn't loving sitting still, especially on my lap. Unfortunately there really isn't anywhere she can walk around. She seems to stay more entertained if I give her her own seat. She loves to stand up and look at the people behind her. She always seems to win over a couple playmates!

Here are a few pictures over the last month.
